The graduates of MHHS class of 1968 had a reunion in 1998, and there we learned of a classmate and good friend who had a recent diagnosis of terminal colon cancer.
Several of his friends (me included) decided to get him out of the house every Friday and eat barbecue at the newly opened Brent’s Rib House in Mountain Home. Our purpose was to have fun and help him forget his predicament for just a few minutes each week. To add some variety to our gathering, I decided to bring a new BBQ sauce each week for tasting and judging. Our good friend passed away in a couple of years after we began, but we continue to eat out every Friday. We stopped taste-testing sauce after about five years of its beginning. Only a couple hundred bottles survived the years of being in storage being moved about.
