Anvil —— Click image for a larger/sharper copy

I spotted this anvil at a local paint shop and had to get it for my shop. It weighs in at 138 lbs. It’s between 60-100 years old…will try to date it better down the line.  The fellow that sold it to me collects these and has over 20 in his inventory. I asked him why anvils an he said…. [1] If a burglar strikes, these aren’t very portable. [2] The kids can’t hurt them [3] If the wife tells me to get lost, she will want them gone too. [4] If the shop/house burns down, they will still be there  [5]  Environmentally safe. [6] Low property taxes.  [7] Every real man owns at least one anvil.  [8]  there were about three more reasons…will post them here when the memory improves.
