There are several stories on how “short snorters” got started. If you’re interested, just Google the phrase and see several Websites dedicated to the subject. My favorite is ShortSnorter.org. Here’s photos of my father’s recently discovered Short Snorter. Look for Jack Dempsey and Ernie Pyle signatures from WWII….there may be other notables.
